It has been said that this traditional temple nestled in Mt. Gaseopsan was built by Monk Naonghwasang during King Gongmin’s reign in the Goryeo dynasty and remodeled by Great Monk Byeokamdaesa during the 2nd year of King Injo’s reign in Joseon dynasty. The temple was burnt to the ground in 1938 and restored by the head monk Yun Won-geun.
This temple consists of Daeungjeon(the main temple) Hall and Samseonggak (shrine for three stars). Daeungjeon has a great view of Eumseong-eup, and Samseonggak has the charm and elegance of an ancient temple.
